God Is Three...And One | The Trinity
An explanation of the trinity: Our understanding of salvation is completed only when we understand the full deity of Jesus. The trinity compels us into whole and fruitful relationships.
God Is Perfect | Holiness
An explanation of holiness: The generosity of God’s grace can be expressed only in the context of our insufficiency in comparison to perfect holiness. The chapter also hold space for a conversation on trusting God’s goodness and what it looks like for us to interact with a holy God.
God Is Big | Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent
An explanation of God’s omniscience, omnipresence, and omnipotence: It may be beyond us to grasp how much different God is than us in these ways. But we can choose to trust Him because of it, and we can orient our lives in such a way that they honor these parts of His nature.
God Is Forever | Eternal
An explanation of God’s eternality: God can be eternal because He is self-existent. We are not. And when we compare those two truths, we understand better what is means to be “saved,” to trust God, and to join God’s purposes to save others.
God Is Constant | Immutable
An explanation of God’s immutability: Because God’s being does not change, we can be confident that our salvation will never wear out and all of God’s promises will always remain true.
God Is Knowable | Personhood
An explanation of what it means that God is a person: God does not just want to be around us as a hobby. It is part of God’s nature to be in relationship and desire relationship.
God Is in Control | Sovereignty
An explanation of God’s sovereignty: God is in control of all good, helpful, hard, and hurtful things. It might be difficult to accept, but whether or not we do does not change the truth. And if we can accept it and give up trying to control everything on our own, we’ll find real freedom.
God Is Real
This chapter switches content focus. It addresses some introductory apologetics for God’s existence. The goal is to emphasize that the God of the Bible can be studied, but because He is real, not just a story to be read, we must reconcile our lives to that truth. Topics covered include scientific evidence in our cosmos and our DNA, the reliability of Scripture as it points to divine inspiration, and the historically verifiable life of Jesus.
